Mindful parenting is a relational-support method that keeps you connected to the life you want to live. We’ll work to encourage slow, gentle connective development within yourself during times of discomfort and stress.
Creating and connecting to Mindful Parenting methods looks different for every person because we each have unique, important desires that sometimes don’t get the time or space we feel they deserve.
1:1 Mindful Parenting sessions are deeply intentional times for us to work on naming and cultivating the specific needs and mindful coping skills within ourselves as a person/parent.
As we move together through experiences that feel challenging, we’ll connect with parts of ourselves that we can integrate to ground us into our present moment so that we respond as our authentic selves.
Small group Mindful Parenting sessions provide us the opportunity to connect in a small group setting with others who are interested and invested in cultivating a mindful approach to their life, especially life as a parent/caregiver.
Small groups are currently forming for the Spring 2025 season. Please reach out to grace@gracethedoula.com for additional information and registration. If you have a group of people who would like custom mindful approach’s to life, please connect as we create custom content and meet ups.
Toddler Time is a community-based movement and mindfulness class for ages 18 months - 6 years old with a trusted adult. Currently, you can register for classes taught by Grace at Complete Harmony.
Mindful parenting is indeed a relational-support method that fosters connection and self-awareness. It encourages parents to stay present and intentional in their interactions with their children, especially during challenging moments[1][2]. This approach helps parents develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their children, leading to more thoughtful responses rather than reactive behaviors[4][7].
Focusing on the here and now in parent-child interactions[3][4].
Approaching situations without criticism of oneself or the child[7].
Managing one's own emotions to respond more effectively to the child's needs[2][7].
Consciously directing focus to the child and the parent-child relationship[3][5].
By practicing mindful parenting, parents can cultivate a more compassionate and understanding approach to both themselves and their children[7]. This method supports the development of stronger parent-child bonds and can help reduce parental stress and anxiety[2][5]. Ultimately, mindful parenting allows parents to stay connected to their values and the kind of parent they aspire to be, even in moments of discomfort or stress[1][8].
